Every free activity pack comes two ways. The mini-booklet turns the pack into a little A5 book that kids love to hold. These steps work for every Beep Beep Bitsy booklet.
What you need
- A4 paper (US Letter works too, see step 2)
- A printer, and a stapler
Print it
- Open the booklet PDF and choose Print.
- Paper size: A4. On US Letter paper, choose Fit to page instead (the margins get a little bigger).
- Scale: Actual size (100%). Don't use the printer's own "Booklet" option. The pages are already in booklet order.
- Print on both sides and choose Flip on short edge (Mac: "Short-Edge binding"). If you pick long edge, every second page comes out upside down.
Make the book
- Keep the sheets in the order they come out. Don't shuffle them.
- Fold the whole stack in half at the small grey tick marks, with the cover on the outside.
- Staple twice along the fold, from the outside. A long-reach stapler is easiest; or open a normal stapler flat over a folded towel.
No two-sided printing?
- Print the odd pages only (1, 3, 5, 7).
- Put the printed stack back in the paper tray without changing the order, printed side up or down as your printer needs (try with one sheet first).
- Print the even pages only (2, 4, 6, 8).
